Do I really need a HD adjustable wastegate to use w/the boost controller? Or can I get away with a stock style adjustable one? Also the actuator is shown as not having boost kick in until about 18#? I would like to run lower than that since I will be on the street quite a bit and probably won't see the track anytime soon....and probably be adding a alky kit to the mix as well.
Thanks

If you are running a rjc boost controller you will be ok with the stocker until you want to turn the boost past 20 you will want a hd actuator for that...The rjc replaces the wastegate all together..
The boost controller replaces the boost solenoid. The controller was designed to keep the wastegate closed until it hits the desired boost thus faster spoolups. I use a HD actuator with the boost controller and if you want low boost say 15# use a shorter spring in the controller.
I'm using the RJC boost controller with stock wastegate actuator and Razor alky kit. I can dial in 22~25lbs of consistent boost. I'm currently dialed into 22lbs. No problems for me. I'm sure there are differences between cars...mine has fairly low milage. No need for a heavy duty actuator for me.
