That young man was scared to death, and made a great showing! If the rest of the team hadn't self destructed, they could well have won.
Was it that McCoy saw they were going to get thier butts kicked, and decided he didn't want to be a part of that, or was he really hurt??
The NFL, w/ a huge signing bonus, and an outrageous paycheck, played the determining factor.:frown:[Daddy was in the locker room. Can't you just imagine what that conversation sounded like??

I agree that that freshman qb has a great future ahead - talk about baptism of fire. He was real shaky until the 2nd half but he didn't get any support from his receivers, play-calling-coach, or line either. As for McCoy, was this his last game or is he coming back next year? I don't follow Bama much but heard one of the announcers talking about him taking a Rhodes scholarship, putting off the nfl, and playing another year. Was that last year, or will he be back at Bama next year?

This just in, Texas boy wins National Championship!

Greg McElroy, from Dallas area South Lake Carroll, leads Alabama to the BCS National Championship over Texas University.

McElroy played the entire game while vaunted Texas QB Colt McCoy only got in for 5 snaps.

Backup UT QB Garrett Gilbert, from Austin area Lake Travis HS, was thrust into action and responded tepidly, sandwiching 2 TD passes in between 5 turnovers.

McCoy, from Tuscola, TX, who won 44 games in his college career, couldn't win the one he wanted the most.

On a side note, none of the 3 QB's mentioned above were born in Texas.
