Rough Idle Slight Backfire Pop on Deceleration

Hey guys was wondering if a ground kit that suppose to solve engine ground issues would help. MAF is new going to try the uplug diagnostic. Plugs, wires and coil is new, no codes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fisrt thing to come to mind is dirty injectors.

I would check the cam too.

What sized injectors, chip, exhaust, stock original cat? Stock intake setup, what is the overall condition of the wire harness?

Oh yeah, that might help. All Stock '84 (except K&N air filter) 79, 000 miles, original cat, stock intake, etc. Runs strong all the way up through the RPM band with no hesitation. As far as the condition of the harness someone's definitely been messing with it, there was an MSD box under the hood but not hooked-up, looks like an aftermarket alarm and a few tape jobs here and there...

What kind of rough idle are we talking about? Do you have a boost/vacuum gauge in the car? If so how much vacuum do you have car at idle in park or neutral? Get rid of the tape jobs here and there, that will benifit you more than redoing the engine grounds most likely ...could be wires to something really important that could for sure cause your problems. Check that out then let us know...and does you have state emissions for the car?
