Here we go, i took my car out to day after putting new plugs in it the other day ac47ct i think and it is starting to run like junk. I even welded one of the headers today and nothing.

This is what it does, i floor it it pulls about 16psi then in the mid to high rpm's it loses power and starts to slow up. Iam getting high yellows on the knock gauge to and a mean back fire . What kind of fuel press should i get at 16-17 psi sounds like its leaning out or something. I cant check it with my turbo link because my for the lab top is not here yet. but i do have a fuel gauge.

I am running my brothers reds 93 chip and 43psi fuel press with the vac off. It was ok here the other day. tps is set at .42

any help would be great, thanks guys:)

my buddy gave me a set of new 8mm msd heli-core plug wires so i'll try them and see what happens . iam sure i'll be back to let you know if it works.:(

If your getting severe KR that would explain your loss of power. The ECM is pulling all your timing out in its attempt to keep the motor from blowing up. That is how detonation/KR feels, like all of a sudden your towing a bus.
#1 : make sure you are getting fuel! You need to watch your FP gauge while your boosting (hopefully your gauge is on a braided line that can stretch to the windshield and not mounted on the fuel rail).
If your boost is going up, your FP better be matching it pound for pound. If it doesnt go up, or starts dropping off at a certain point then theres your problem. Pump or fuel sock may be bad, or clogged from crap in tank (happened to me before). Lines could have crap in them, fuel filter, or problem with FP reg. 43psi static FP should be more than enough for 16psi boost. Where your FP is set you should be seeing at least 59psi FP at 16psi boost (43+16).
Dont do anything else until you know your fuel situation.
Also, dont know whats with the AC47CT plugs. If that is indeed what you have, thats a problem too. Get AC CR43TS plugs (gap at tight .035). Some even use 42s, but 47s I would think are much too hot for our cars.

A leak in a plug wire would cause backfiring, running crappy, and loss of power too. Ive had wires before that looked like they were fine, no visible cuts, burns, etc. However they had heated up to where you could move the outer layer of insulation which had seperated from the inner core of the wire. I could just wrinkle up the outer layer. This maybe the problem, or wire not pushed down properly on plug, or incorrect placement but I would still insure that the fuel situation is ok first.

Thanks bud , i'll put the new plug wire on today and check the fp out. I have a fuel press gauge on the line that i will put on the windsheild and make sure that i am getting 59psi.

i'll let you know:)

Well i hate my car even more now, it does get the 60psi @17 psi boost. I took it for a ride after putting the wire on and it ran ok and not great. I have a new vett get next to me and take off, so i say ok i'll try , and i stay with him but my car is not pulling like it should be . I go to get in 3rd and it wont so i see him start pulling away. I turn around and floor it pulls and slows up , pulls and slows up, then drops in 2nd i look at the boost gauge and i am only hitting 7-8 psi now and sounds like its sucking a lot of air in the motor.

I will look for a bad vac line or a intercooler pipe lose .:(

he could not even pull me with 7-8 psi and running very bad.:D

blow another intercooler reducer, time to buy some good ones. All i need now is 2 - 3+2 1/2 reducers.

damn dude you do not like your car! you need to releive yourself of it, you are crying out, and i'm here to rescue. Just drive it on down here and i'll give ya a plane ticket back ;)

Sounds good but i dont think it would make it,

I love my car but it does not love me.

Same here hehe, my car **** itself 3 months after i bought it.. drove it from titusville FL to bradenton, which is about 220 miles so i thought it was good and ofcourse.. no.. well now it is.. 2 engines later and 1.4 years ;P

the pass side header was just welded about two days ago now its time to do the other side again , i think i hate the headers more then the car.:)
