Yeah, I know this is retarded; just hear me out right now.

I need to smog my car in CA and to do so I need the stock turbo on there, mostly because of the valvecover breather. Since the compressor on my stock turbo is in terrible shape, I'm going to run a bolt through the turbo where the shaft would be and put large washer, or something on either end to keep oil in (with RTV.) Assuming this works, the car will be without turbo for a while.
Now the question is, running the motor N/A even with a 91chip, do you think it could run off 87? And could running 87 effect emmissions possitively or negatively?

For the most part, I am just currious. I figured 87 would work fine in 8.5/1 compession, even with timing from a 91chip. Also, I was thinking that 87 would run hotter and if hotter -- cleaner. I don't really know for sure. Tell me what you think...

Not that I've tried this, but.... If you put on the stock breather in the ps valve cover, then rotate it so the opening points down, it is hardly noticable. You just *MAY* get away with it. Good Luck,

Won't work, Test only! I even tried glueing it on an attachment for the hose before, and they tried removing it to see if air was flowing through it.
If it weren't test only, most guys I know wont even open the hood. They just put the sniffers in the pipes and let those decide.

Bummer. It has worked, but not on the dyno test. I was going to make a hose between the turbo inlet and MAF pipe with a hole and a connector for the tube. Good Luck,
