Hi Guys,

just had 42.5 injectors with tt chip, 255 walbro pump with hotwire installed. everything else is stock beside adj fuel press regulator.

what should I set the fuel pressure to?? i believe its currently set @ either 43 or 45 will check in the next 45 minutes.

problem im having is shes lazy off the line and after boosting strong fuel smell. no exh or vac leaks visible or heard at the moment and mew stock bosch o2 sensor is installed. also ive only turned the boost up to 16lbs

No scan master yet, should arrive on saturday.

Get that scanmaster hooked up and post some readings. It's your o2 sensor fairly new?

Set fuel pressure according to what the tt chip says, I believe it is 43lbs line off. Then wait on the scanmaster. Did you read the adjustment directions that came with the chip or did you order the chip second hand?

O2 sensor is 4weeks old, rest of the upgrades are a week old, problem was present before upgrades. Upgrades were installed by a veteran in the game when it comes to these cars, he had advised after the installation to get the scan master which is coming in on Saturday.
I adjusted the fuel pressure to 38 at idle with line on. Prob still present.

I will say that the recent mods did make the problem better but not gone.

Also just in case it does have egr still on and canister is hooked up.

Soon as scan master is installed I'll post #s.

P.s. I just ran out of gas and my girl helped push that heavy monster a block and a half to the gas station.. she earned brownie points for that one!

That's a good woman. I assume that the chip was custom burnt for your combo by turbo tweak. Make sure car is warmed up, greater than 160 degrees. Double check all vacuum lines, plug the lines if you need to, to make sure that's not the issue.

the scanmaster will put you on your tuning journey, post back your numbers.thats more injector than turbo though, but with the tt chip you can tune the car.i prefer the wideband but if your going to keep the car at 16psi,do a rolling 3rd gear pull and adjust accordingly, with taking a little out of 1st gear.

Will check and perform all of the above, I would ideally like to set boost at 18psi. Someone had metioned on another post of similar topic to check and adjust the waste gate?

I'd hold off until you have your Scanmaster installed. You need to able to monitor whats going on.

raising the boost will require octane which can be had from alky injection or race gas.i don't think you will be able to run 18psi on pure pump gas unless you turn the timing way down.keep it around 15-16 psi and tune for 0 knock.

I'd say get rid of that Bosch O2 sensor for starts. I tried one and on my Scanmaster, it would not read...example is 00 read. Install an AC Delco or better yet, a Denso p/n 234-1001.

First, i think you are better off at 15# of boost on pump gas unless you have alky.

Second, my car was having the fluttering/hesitation in the throttle between 900-1700 rpms. Here is what my problem was:

Need to make sure that your TPS is at .42 volts key off. Now back of your idle screw until it is flush the the throttle body. Now adjust the idle screw until it touches the the throttle lever without it moving the lever. Now mark your screw, adjust the screw one complete turn. Some say 1.5 turns. But once you do this your IAC should be almost perfect. Once you get your scanmaster, this will be easier to see. But your car should run smoother. Lastly pull off the vacuum line and adjust your fuel pressure to 43#. Once vacuum is back on, you should read 38#. plus all said and done, your car should be responsive and rev great. Also, your O2 should be around 800 v idle. Have fun my friend and don't get discouraged. These cars have attitudes and are worse than women!!

Exactly what I needed to read today too.

Ok guys I'm back and scan master is hooked up. Do I post readings at idle?
So far no.fault codes in sys, and I found an exhaust leak or rather hear a leak near the turbo...

Lou86,
What are your O2's numbers at idle? 2nd, What is the chip boost level set for. A lot of the time people don't set their boost level to what the chip is set for which causes over rich conditions because there is not enough air present for the fuel being delivered.

Chip is set for 16-18lbs. I'll grab the o2 readings in a few and post. I know at 16 lbs no knock was present according to the scan master I want to turn it up to 18psi, I need to run thru home depot to get a valve to adjust the boost

Depending on where that exhaust leak is, especially before the O2 sensor, the leak could definetely cause a rich condition do to it reading more air in the exhaust than there really is. I would get that taken care of first.

Any luck getting the exhaust leak fixed? Was it before the O2 sensor? If that is taken care of and it's still fat at idle, than I would look for a vacuum leak. Normally you should see 750 to 770 at idle. Every car is a little different. 800's are to high at idle.
