Hi guys:Im going to install in my street car the S 10 wheel cylinders plus soft compound large rear brake shoes yo improve the braking.A friend told me that be careful driving in traffic because they can cause the rear wheels to lock up if the brakes are hit hard in an emergency. What do you think? Any experience with this? I will appreciate your counsel. Thanks

If you buy an adjustable prop valve from Summit you can have one setting fro the street and one for the track. Then there are no worries about it locking up.

I have them on my 86 T-Type and they are not a problem. A couple of times tuning the car I had to get out of the boost and hit the brakes hard because I was coming up hard on a car. Never had the back brakes lock up. I also have vacuum brakes, but I don't think it should make a difference.

street tires in the rain are a lot different than nittos or MT drs dry

they wont go right to lockup but will require much less to go to lock and a damp road will leave you sliding not stopping if you get on them quick because some old lady stopped infront of you for a garage sale

No problems here either with vacum brake conversion. :) S10 cylinders with regular long and short shoes though.

Never had that problem and I've had the same set up with vacuum brakes, powermaster, street tires and drag radials. Never once happened to me.
