I was recently told that Syclones and Typhoons have a different 4.3 V6 than the Chevy S-10 "SS". Is this true? They're not running 3.8's are they? If it is a 4.3, how is it different from the "SS" 4.3? Can you put the Typhoon/Syclone parts onto the "SS" motor?

How available is a used AWD tranny, and what would be the approximate cost?

My little brother has a '95 S-10 "SS". However, he has this undying love for the Typhoon and Syclone. He knows little about the trucks, and would like more information for future reference on his own vehicle.

Thanks guys.

The difference in the long block is low compression pistons and billet main caps. They have a different Intake Manifold, Exhaust Manifolds, obviously a Turbo & Intercooler and use a different ECM/Wiring Harnbess vs a SS S-10. 2wd S-10's are difficult to change to AWD or 4WD as the frame are different, the easiest way would be to swap frames if he want AWD.
