Hello all, I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice on a turbo hydramatic 350 to 2004r swap. I did a swap like this in 1997 on a 1970 Skylark 350, since then sold.
I now recently purchased another 1970 Skylark 350 Custom with 3:73 gears and I'm going to do the same swap for the Overdrive benefit. When I did the first swap in '97 I used a 200r4 that was from a turbo regal (I think a BRQ). Not too many people where doing them, so info was a little harder to find but I was advised by 2004r guy from GS club back then to replace the input shaft, go to a 10 vein pump and higher pump pressure spring, the lockout was manually controlled. I did that and drove car and even raced it a few times for several years with no problems before selling it in 2009. So my question now is, I currently have a (KTF) 2004r to replace the turbo 350. What would now be recommended for upgrades to this transmission before making the swap? This car will be mostly street driven but sometimes it may some full throttle runs.
Thanks in advance for help on this subject.
