I just found a new way to ship parts from the mainland to here. Just log on to Shiptohawaii.com to join. I already made back my $20.00 membership fee. the only draw back is you have to pick up your parts at Lynden Air Freight on Koapaka (by the airport L&L bar b que) and the wait is about 10 days. For example this is what I was charged: 24" x 9'" x 9" 10lb. box $11.55 , 18" x 14" x 6" 5.5lb. box $8.40. These were shipped free from Summit/ Jegs to Phoenix, AZ then to HI. Someone suggested have one guy join first , use up the poundage and then have someone else join & ect. ect. Anyway, this will make ordering those secret parts a little cheaper.
nope UPS does ups ground to Hawaii now, as of earlier part of this year, I use to work at UPS and have a good friend who is a supervisor there..ups ground is about 5-7 days service, helps save on all the parts we all buy from the mainland
I did call UPS & they do offer Ground service to Hawaii now but not Alaska. Thats what the clerk told me. Fedex had ground service to Hawaii for awhile now so I guess thats why UPS is offering it to. I did try UPS ground but its still not that much less. Anyway, Shiptohawaii has a shipping calculator were you enter the dimensions & weight which gives you your costs, then just compare it to UPS ground or whatever & go from there.

I have recieved several packages through their service. Many companies offer free UPS ground in the 48. Shiptohawaii is cheaper than using USPS on smaller dimension heavy items. Such as heavy car parts. They use either weight or cubes to figure cost. Very convenient to pick up parts.
