He's not that well off.

Only reason he went with an SB2 is because he got a dead on the heads.

All of the custom fab work was done by him. He fixed one of my headers, it looks mint.

Very nice! That car should rip.... '87-91 FC had a .29cd aerodynamic rating when the aero mirrors and side skirts were employed (better than the C4 Vette cd number), the engineers when to great lengths to reduce weight and typical base RX-7's weigh 2600lbs, also the RX-7 won huge in IMSA road racing from the late 70's to the 90's. Good stock 4 piston caliper brakes and strong stock rear mainly LSD differentials. They are dirt cheap to pick up when those little 13B rotaries pop and then the car value goes in the toilet.

Depending upon his compression and cam that car could go 10's on the motor if not faster. They are killer little cars for a project with big power.

Tell your bro to visit the V8RX7 messageboard as there are others that would love to see it. SB2 heads breathe like crazy.... that car should be a blast. Twin turbos down the line .

Lightweight is great with killer aero design and good looks to boot. You guys know the C5 Vette is a big ripoff of the 3rd gen "FD" RX-7.:
