I have the scanmaster 2. Quick question. How do I check for knock on my scanmaster? What do I look under? Still trying to learn it.
Thanks

It will show you the amount of timing retard... It is on the same display as O2. Also, if you are on the boost display and as boost creeps up, there is a little light that will flash as you get retard/knock.

Two questions Gaston..... Oh, Happy Birthday by the way. By o2 you mean CC on my scanmaster right?.. when I start my car. I looked up the scan tool parameters page with the info and its like reading Chinese. Is there and simplified verison? Maybe an easier way to explain it? For example if the O2 display say this number you have knock. Second question . Where is the boost display on my scanmaster? What does it show up as. I have a aftermarket boost gauge. I know these are stupid questions but I won't know unless I learn. Thanks.
P.S.
I told my wife I wanted a cake like yours. :D

Thanks!!!! On your first screen display you get when you start your car.... The O2 volts are on the left. Usually running 750-850v.,,, then on the right you see 0.0. As you get knock, these numbers will increase. This is the amount of retard your ECM is adjusting to help you from blowing head gasket or melting piston. But usually it is to late at this point. Your boost registers as Bst..... It usually reads negative until you start making boost then it goes positive per the # of boost you make.

Do you have the scanmaster manual? If not, go to FULL Throttles forum page and down load it. Will be helpful.

I suggest that you but a knock detector from Caspers. This will help you and save your motor!!!

If you make a full throttle pull you can push the recall button and see what the highest knock and lowest O2 were during that run, if you hold the recall and press the other button you can see the MPH that those two events happened so you can figure things out quicker

I've got a Scanmaster 2.1 that has no provision for showing boost (Bst). Is there a more recent version with a boost line input? Or, do I only get boost if I have direct scan or power logger?
