This weekend I want to wire in my scanmaster and have a question..........I am going to make a quick disconnect harness so that I can remove it from my car when not in use and hide it from thieves.........
Where is the best and easiest place to hook up the hot wire? If in the fuse block, which connector? Please consider I am a complete klutz when it comes to electrical work...........

thanks guys,

Woody

I actually just hooked up my scanmaster today.
I hooked up the red wire to the fuse that powers the ignition and back up lights.
I think it is marked something like "IGN BU Lmps" or something close to that. It is a 20 amp fuse.

I connect to power and ground through the cigarette lighter. Bought the adapter at radio shack for a couple of bucks. For the third lead, I spliced a wire into the signal wire under the dash. I ran it into my guage pod under the radio and put a banana plug adapter into the front of the gauge pod, in between and a bit below the two gauges.
I don't have a connector dangling when it not installed. When I want to install it, plug into the cigarette lighter and connect the banana plug to the jack conveniently located. No stooping or reaching under the dash to hook it up.
