I have the PL upgrade for the ScanMaster and was wondering what wire I should use for it. If I remember correctly the white wire is tiny. What gauge would that be? And it goes to the SCM port on the analog block for the PL? I normally dont mess with wiring but if its just one connection, I think I can handle it.

Also where do I tap into for the boost referencing for the PL?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, the little white wire connects to the SCM slot. Doesn't need to be any heavier than what's there, it's only data.

You'll need a wire run from I2 on the PL to your MAP sensor signal wire.
What kind of MAP sensor do you have?

Okay, so basically the smallest gauge wire I can find will work?

Well, the car has an operational AlkyControl kit on it; so Im assuming its at least a three bar. But I could be wrong. I bought the car with it already there. I know the MAP plug is there behind the glovebox, but what pin do I tap into?

I normally dont mess with electrical work, but this seems easy enough... (famous last words:eek: )

Thanks.

If memory serves, it's a light green wire in pin A of the map harness/connector.

Update

Well, I installed the 2.2 upgrade chip today and now the SM is dead, along with the PL. The car starts so I dont think there is anything wrong with the ECM, but Im not sure. When I first put the upgrade chip in, the face lit up for a second and then nothing. I went back to it later and reseated the chip and it stayed lit up untill I took the chip back out.

So now my GN will sit in the garage untill I figure this out. Hopefully its something simple.

Did you remember that the Scanmaster's data wire now needs to be hooked up to the powerlogger interface block and NOT the ALDL connection??

Didn't bend any legs on the chip did you?

On the powerlogger input block there is a slot called SCN I think, look for that.

That was the first thing I did and I straightened any bent pins. And the data wire is hooked up into the #7 SCN port.
