That seems to be a good price, I paid $249 for mine a year ago. Really, it's hard to put a price on this scan tool when you consider you are saving your car from possible engine damage and will be able to tune it for best performance. I only turn mine on through a switch when I need it, if standing in the throttle .
I see you list your car is stock, the SM is a good tool to learn about your vehicle and save yourself some $$ doing any work yourself. It is definitely hard to find anyone familiar with these cars to work on them. I have learned mechanic skills doing my own work I never thought I would attempt. It also helps to know some other TR owners in your area in case you run into a snag.
When I was at Norwalk, I got a Scanmaster 2.1 for $225 from SouthEast Turbo. That was the best price I'd ever seen so I jumped on it. $229 seems like a good price IMO.
