I'm new to all this high tech turbo stuff but I have learned a lot of information on this site. I recently bought an 87 GN. I've done the hooker exhaust, RA 93 chip, 9" cone, Adj FG reg, and 160 therm. Bone stock with only a 9" cone I went 2.143 60 foot and 14.185 @ 96.26 (I didnt think too bad). I went back the other night with all of the above mods(FP set at 42-43) (93 pump gas) expecting to be in the thirteens and went 2.298 60 foot and 14.388 @ 96.82. Man was I disappointed. Anyway, I know a new fuel pump and scanmaster are in the very near future( along with oil press, temp, and boost gauge). Where is the best place money wise to get a scanmaster??? Where the heck do you learn how to read the dern thing and what everything means? I about came to the conclusion I would have had a better time slip if I would have put the stock chip back in and lowered the FP to stock. The exhaust really seemed to help before I did the other things. What can I expect to run with the above mods with the car tuned right. Any help is greatly appreciated. :(

the scanmaster is my next mod to do... everyone says cant live without it and im sure they are right!

The chip has nothing to do with your horrible 60' times. After a SM and fuel pump you need to invest in tires

I think Blackbuick87 hits it on the head..Tires are huge. Look at your 60 ft times. With the added mods, they got worse. Probably because your putting out more power and just can't hook. A general rule of thumb is a reduction of 2 tenths at the 60 ft is like a reduction of 4 tenths in the 1/4 mile. If you do your math 2.298-2.143=0.155x2=.31 now 14.38-.31=14.07. Again its just a rule of thumb, but your trap speed did increase (not much) but its positive. Get some tires (slicks perferred) drain the tank and dump 5 gallons of 114 octane in. Up your boost in small increments 1 or 2 psi and watch your knock gage the whole time.
You should see high 12's or better with no problem. Good luck

If your car is tuned well and you drive well you could very well bust into the mid-high 13's. I ran a 14.1 with a similar set up to you and with a bad fuel pump.

Next thing before you do anything else:
Get a boost gauge!!!
You have to know what boost you are running and what boost to leave the line with.
