Search function on this website

Why do the 39 year old results come up first on our searches by default? Why wouldn't you just automatically list the results starting from the most pertinent information (newest) first? A lot of the information from 47 years ago just isn't relevant any longer on our cars. 50% of those companies aren't even in existance any more.
