Hey guys I haven't been over here in a long time posting as other things have taken me away from the G-body stuff for awhile. I have a few questions regarding the seat slides on the GN's. Is there a difference in the ones for the 84's as compared to the 85 & up slides? I am talking manual ones. More specifically do the outer slides on the 85-up models bolt to the floor with one stud/bolt or two? What about the front of the slide? I had a drivers side set that I restored and then traded to a guy for his power seat slides. He liked how the ones I restored looked so he sent me his passenger side ones to restore to match. Well when I compared them to mine the outers were not the same. Then he called me to say that the outer slide on the driver side would not bolt into his car as the single bolt/stud was to the front and not to the rear as on the manual slides I sent him.

If you have pictures of the slides and how they bolt into the car for the 85-up models that would be extremely helpful. Again thanks...............RatPack....................

i believe that every G body with bucket seats had the same seat tracks from 78-88.

That is what I thought also. I have done some more looking into this and found that he is converting from a split bench to buckets which they both use the same floorpan brackets to mount the slides. The power seat slides are the same for split bench or buckets on the drivers side, so one would assume that the manual slides for the passenger side would interchange. Well the outer slide between the two are different, and after further research I have found that the driver seat outer slide on a non-power split bench is different from the bucket seat outer slide. I looked at an 88 MCSS this morning and the outer slides match the ones I took off of these GN seats which confirms what you say as them being the same. Now to see if the outer slide for the split bench can still be used when converting to bucket seats................Thanks, RatPack.....................
