sell the car or part it out

I might be in a position to have a 85 t type (rough paint faded interior) with 87 drivetrain that I could sell for 4K (absolute top dollar). I wonder if it would be better to part the car out? what would a good posi rear end be worth? tranny? complete motor? Just thought I'd get everybody's opinion.

depends , for money, u may make more parting it out, but its a pain in the butt to do all the labor and find buyers for everything. But if it runs I'd sell it as a whole, even though its not original and not the nicest, id rather see it on the road, there are plenty of cars that can be used at parts cars that don't run anyways. Thats just my opinion
