thanks guys:D

Hey guys, I'm also transferring your question to the "transmission talk" section, so be sure to check there for answers!
:)

A shift improver kit is easy to install, they come with pretty thorough instructions, and will make a huge difference. I suggest that you go with B&M, Art Carr, or another well known manufacturer. I tried a no name once, the shifts were ok, but not like the B&M I put in a tranny in the same car. (cooler line blew, guy kept driving, tranny died,)

BTW I believe the el cheapo kit the gut brought me the first time was a "No-Yo-Yo." I seen them around before, but wasn't impressed.

I may need a shift kit soon also... tranny's starting to slip a little (I think it was.. car's stored now). How much, roughly, do the B&M and the Art Carr kits cost?

Thx

Dave

I think i've seen them from 30-50.00 . Iam going to need it after this winter:D

i think i'll get it rebuilt in the winter, rebuilt tran, bigger turbo, injectors, and bigger stall. And maybe i can learn more about these cars so i dont blow it up as much.:D

All the "shift-kits" I've seen for these cars are jokes.....take it to someone who know 200r4's and you won't be disappointed.

If you want it to shift hard everytime go with the B&M, The Art-Karr kit shift hard when needed. I had the B&M and switched over to the Art-Karr. But a Trans shop can also modify you trans to shift the way you want.

When I overhauled my tranny, I used all Level 10 parts, shift kit, etc. Seems to work very well, good tech support.

I installed a Kenne Belle shift kit and am very satisfied. Hits good and hard.

I have the reciept at home as I am at work...but I don't believe it was over 100 bucks I think around 70. I had a friend put it in and asked him if it was hard? It comes with step by step instructions..I never liked jacking with tranny's......he said it was really no problem. I sure did like the results. My car not real fast but will grab the street going into 3rd gear no problem. :D

I put one in a tranny in about 1.5 hours, at dusk, on a picnic table, with minimal tools, and no previous experience. Go for it anybody can pull this one off.

Thanks guys i think i'll put it in when i put my stall in, i did one in my turbo 350 i had in the fire bird when it was in the car but i dont think i'll try that again.
