Depends on if you drill it or not.... LOL 
Just kidding...... well sort of. You don't have to drill it, in fact the kits they sell now don't even offer drilling it as an option (guess they learned their lesson) it is part of a "gear command" they call it. To answer your ? not all trannies with Trans Go shift kits are drilled, nor does it have to be drilled to install their basic kit. Hope this helps.
