BQ trans with correct BQ governor. Fresh rebuild, but the shift points are at 4700. What will removing the spring on the big weight (governor) do to my part throttle and wot shifts? Part throttle shifts are too soon also. Looking for suggestions!!! Thanks

What were the shift points before? Removing the spring from the big wt. will raise the P/T shift points only. Like Chris said make sure the TV cable is adjusted right, you should have no slack at WOT.

i forgot.the big primary weight in a g national calibrated 2004r is maxxed out at 18 mph so it really wont help anything by playing /modifying it in a grand national application.www.ckperformance.com

Had a chance to pull the pan yesterday. I removed the governor. Compared the blue spring off the BQ gov. to one from a BRF. The BQ has one LESS coil. So I/m assuming it will shift later. Removed the spring from the big weight and ground a small amount of material off the small weight. Reinstalled the gov. with the BQ spring. It now shifts at 5100. The part throttle shifts are now correct.
I don/t know how it shifted prior to me owning it as I got it in a trade.
The TV cable is set correct.
I need to get the shift points to around 5700-5800
I am at 15 lbs of boost on the street. At 25 I know the shift points will go up, but how much?

raising boost wont change the shift point during automatic shifts you must remove weight from the secondary weight on the governor.www.ckperformance.com can build you a governor for this application .contact chris at 718 784 4256
