Shifter Lights

I'm just wondering, is light showing the current gear on the console a single bulb? Or is it one light for each gear? Anything above OD sometimes lights up, anything past it never lights up. I'm just not sure if this is a circuit issue, or if it's the bulbs themselves. Also, slightly related, but I can't shift into first, my shifter doesn't go that far. That's the shift cable, right? My car is in storage now, but I'm trying to figure out how to fix all of the stuff wrong with it, so when it comes out, I'm good to go.
