shifting problem

I am new to the GN but I noticed a problem when I drove it this morning. it seemed to have trouble shifting out of 1st gear. about 4000 RPM it would shift when I let off. on the way home I took the interstate to avoid 1st gear. all the gears seemed the same. under wot it didn't want to shift. any suggestions?

Also check your TV cable adjustment, loosen it a click to see if that helps etc.. before dropping the pan.

Yeah I would look at theTV cable and adjust that and see if it helps your shift points. Did this problem just happen all of a sudden?

I read about the TV cable yesterday and adjusted it. that was not the problem. it did just start and seem to get worse on the way to work. after I adjusted the TV cable, I went around the block. it didn't want to shift out of any gear. high rpm and when I let off it would shift. I plan on checking the Governor after work.

bad news I pulled the govener and the springs were in place. what do I look for next?

I pulled the transmission and took some pictures.

having the transmission rebuilt. so far the only thing that appeared to be bad was the stator (the part that drives the pump). Jose told me that it was burnt up pretty bad. I should have it back by the end of this week.

the transmission was taken apart and it looks like the 2nd gear band and stator burnt up. ???
