shipping a transmission

What is the best and most cost effective way to ship a transmission.I am told UPS will ship a 200.How does it have to be crated?Is there a better carrier?Bruce

Where is the origion and destination? I do this for a living and am sure I could help. BTW I believe UPS will only go to 150#.

I have heard Greyhound ships heavy items but have no experince with them. Maybe calling them up would be a suggestion.

As for packing I would use a mini 1/2 pallet with a cable strap & then use plastic cling wrap all around your trans to the wood.

just my 2 cents. BUT DO LET US KNOW HOW YOU MAKE OUT so we will know.
