Should I buy this '84 GN????

I have the chance to buy a '84 GN for $1000. But it is not worth restoring in my opinion. Is this too much for a parts car? I want the rearend if it is a 8.5 for my Monte Carlo SS. How many GN's were built in '84? Should I feel guilty for parting out a rare car?

I parted out a much rarer car last summer. Some cars are just too far gone.


Do you think somebody else would want to restore it? It would be a shame to part a car out just for the rear end. How about putting the MCSS rear in the GN and reselling it?

I considered that also. I live in Mason City (central IL} I'll get some pics of it. It is pretty rusty, water damaged interior too. It has seats that I have never seen before.
