Before I do anything stupid... or maybe I already have??
I'm trying to replace the pump screen. This is what I bought (a stock screen for an 86 GN)...

The metal grommet piece does not want to come out. Before I tried to force it out with a pair of pliers it dawned on me that I don't have a stock pump. Do I need a Walbro specific screen or does the stock screen work?

Stock screen should work. You just have to get the retaining ring off the pump without damaging the pump inlet so the new sock will stay on.
