Hey guys, I was wondering if replacing the motor mounts are necessary. My car has 21,500 miles on it and its/was bone stock. I have the headers and downpipe off the car, and the mounts would be easy to get to now. Do the mounts break or go very easy on these cars? My GN will be a street car, no hard launches on slicks or anything like that. I was looking at the H&R mounts as possible replacements. Any recommendations?

Nick

I just replaced the motor mounts on my 65,000 mi Turbo T with the H&R mounts .
One of my stock motor mounts was broken and could not tell until I removed it. The H&R mounts are very nice parts with no down side, and you will never need an engine tie down.

Do it, well worth it and you will never have to worry about them again. Especially easy to do if you have the headers off the car.

Yeah, change 'em while you're under there. Mine weren't broken, just kinda deteriorated and.... gooey. I just used the Pioneer brand from Advance auto , drilled 'em and put in carriage bolts to stiffen them up a bit. If your not racing you really won't need the HR mounts. (IMHO) They are really nice mounts though.

Where you at in NJ? (Hackettstown, here)

OK, looks like I will buy a set of H&R mounts. Do they make 2 different versions of this mount, a street and race?

Rich Gio, I'm in Montville. Must be cool being so close to Island Dragway!

Yeah, I can hear Island dragway from my back yard. I'm about 2 miles away (as the crow flies). C'mon down on a Weds or Friday night. Great times to test and tune. Weds is family night, 15$ to race and includes a BBQ. I got in 8 runs easily last time I went.
