Guy's went threw this with my 87t. Sticky was a gm and revited is dealer option. They should be shot for doing this dumb A$$es can cause rust. Mine was ok and just welded up the holes for that clean strait look.

My 87 is stick on,no channel. People say they were ordered on alot of cars. I've been looking for the drivers side fender piece(about ten inches) long for years. If they were frequently ordered on cars, their sure not showing up for sale anywhere. I've nevr seen them for sale in the parts section. Go figure.

b231v6 I've got NOS fender, door, & quarter panel rubber moldings for the TR's on hand. Email me if you still need one. Thanks.

Original body side mouldings...

The only body side mouldings that were installed on GN's from the factory were stick-on, black mouldings, (code B88), and definitely NOT the riveted ones, period! See Kirban's Guide to Turbo Regals page 227-228.

My '86 GN came with.....

B88 Protective Door Side Moldings = $55

and

D91 Door Edge Guards, Black = $15

Info obtained from my window sticker. (It's all I have left:( )

Some of you guys listed that you had taken the adhesive molding off your cars. Well I returned home from school one day (many years ago!) to find my Rottweiler "Slayer" was feasting on the driver's side body molding from my '87 GN  I went to the GM dealer the next day, ordered more molding, & installed it a few days later. Slayer must have liked the taste of that GM molding 'cause he pulled the new stuff off the ds. side of the GN again  I left it off that side & that's the way it's been ever since!

Mike,

I must agree with Slayer.....I prefer the GNs without the side molding as well. If mine ever gets painted it will not be put back on!!!

Mine had it, too. Code B88, stick on. I couldn't find an exact replacement when I repainted it so I left it off. I think it looks better anyway.

Mine has the stick on molding. The passenger side is way off. It is probably 2-3 inches higher in the back. But it doesn't matter because it will be coming of when it gets repainted.
