This is the World's Fastest LT1 powered car (it broke the old record of 8.90 set by Chris Sikora)... There is still more left in the car as this was pretty much a shakedown pass and they are hoping for some 7's when they get all the bugs worked out....
Details on the car...
-PTK www.proturbokits.com built turbo system with 91.5mm turbo
-398ci LT1 motor built by HPE www.horsepowerengineering.com w/ 220cc AFR heads
-Stock style suspension w/ wheelie bars
-True 10.5 tires
Not sure how much the car weighs, but I'm pretty sure it's over 3000lbs... Pretty damn impressive IMO!
That thing is sick, I thought they ran a 29.5 X 10.5w tire???
The LS1 guy went and little faster and quicker.
These F Bodies and getting out of hand.
What about the 1.18 60ft on the stock suspension?

John, according to the one thread I read on LS1tech.com it has 29.5 X 10.5 non "W" tires, but for all I know it could have a "W"... Yeah both of the turbo LS1 cars ran faster (if my memory serves me correct Harlan ran an 8.29 @170mph with his twin turbo car and Steve Turley/Mike Brown ran an 8.30 with their single turbo car that got the 1.18 60' with BMR's stock suspension pieces)... It's nice to see the LT1/LS1 F-bodies finally starting to put up some good #'s with turbos and hopefully they will keep it up and make the Mustang boys a little worried
Rick is da man!!! It was great to see him put down the Mustangs at Orlando and I love his license plate frame "Who's your Daddy?!" I wonder who he's taunting

Its pretty impressive, but there are still a lot more 7 and 8 second Mustangs than late model F bodies. IIRC, there are atleast 3 or 4 Mustangs that have been into the 6's. Steve Grebeck (RIP ) was the first.
What I would love to see is a Mustang vs F body shoot out. Now that would be neat.
