Wondered what size slicks I could use without any beating or surgery? I see Mickey Thompson has 26.00x10.5x16 and also a 28.00x11.5x16 let me know if you have used either one.
Heres the sizes I've used that fit stock rims and wells with no issues:
26x11.5x16 ET Streets(10" tread width) - been 1.47 60ft on those
27x10.5x16 ET Streets(9" tread width) - only ran these on pumpgas, went 1.52 60ft
28x10x16 Hoosier slicks(10" tread width) - been 1.49
28x11.5x16 Hoosier QTP DOT(10" tread width) - also been 1.49
No tubes or screws, hunderds of passes on each type with no problems. In my opinion the Hoosiers are more consistant, last longer, and hold air better than the M/T. Also make sure you check the actual tread width, for example the 28x11.5x16 Hoosier QTP and the 28x12.5x16 ET Street both measure 10" wide even though sidewall designation would have you belive different.
