Slight Starter Issue

The starter on my 87 T-Type seems to funcion normally when starting it up for the first time after it has sitting for a couple hours. The motor turns right over.

If I stop somewhere for 15 minutes come back and crank the car, it drags when it starts. Almost seems like the battery is going dead. Do these car's starters have an issue after time with heat. Do they turn over bit slower once they are hot?

Any feedback would be greatl appreciated.

yes, the starter can tend to heat soak, causing it to draw less and be a little down on torque when warm. especially with the age of these starters.

Aah explains my situation, probably would be fixed with one of those mini starters. Anyone thoughts.
