I managed to drop the cartridge and bend one the turbine blades that I can see.

Has anyone ever ran into this issue and how to resolve it?

repair/rebalance... maybe.
Most likely replace.
Chuck,

I am going to post a picture and see if anyone has a recommendation. If I am required to replace, I don't that I want to go that route. I think a replacement would probably be close to what the turbo is worth. In addition, this a 6265 that I bought in 2014 and installed it in my car in 2017 and did not ever do a WOT pull with the turbo. What a shame.

Replace. These things spin at nearly 100,000 RPM. Any displacement of mass will imbalance it and it'll tear up the bearing and then the housing.

There's a guy on the Dsm boards

Justin Whitesell
Pm me for his email

He's rebuilt 2 or 3 of my old school turbos, way way cheaper and the guys no hobbiest, can balance etc. Replaced turbine wheels and a compressor etc.
I've used him for at least 5 years now, hard to keep track but he's legit.

I had his rebuilt 62/65 on my Talon for at least 20k miles without issue before I swapped to 6062 Gen BB after a head gasket issue on my Talon.
