Slow spool with TE63-1

i have ported heads, 204-214 cam, ported intake, 3,200 stall and a TE63-1 turbo. It kind of seems like maybe it should be spooling faster but imm not sure. its not rediculously slow but seems like it should be quicker. some people say its just a big turbo and thats what happens though.

What are you using for boost control?

The RJC boost controller is supposed to make turbos spool much faster......sometimes to the point that they are almost undriveable on the street... cause the tires go up in smoke with just a small amount of throttle.....tires never have a chance. :biggrin:

Converter is a little on the smallish side for that turbo. I have quick spool with the same turbo and a 3600 stall, if it starts to spool slow it means I have to send the DS header to get welded and put on the spare. I keep two DS headers here so I can swap them out as needed.

If you are running the Extender Extreme chip for the T+ I'd look at the spool fueling and perhaps adjust that a bit.

I'd use some direct scan logs for fine tuning if you can.
