Okay, its an '86 T-type. Its got Goodyear Polyglass GT's all around. When its cold I can smoke the tires all day. When its warm (60+), they wont do crap.
So anyway I pulled up next to a monte ss, and had a 4th gen firebird sittin behind me. Light turns green, I'm up in smoke the ss goes bye bye, and the firebird goes around me with the greatest of ease. I follow the ss to school (I caught him once I got rollin), he says he wants to go again after school, nobody believed his k&n'd & flowmastered 350 could run with a gn (dont matter that its a t type, there all gn's to them), this time with whitnesses.
So later that day, its about 65, I figure the car will hook up & I'll be gone, yeah, sure. Lights green, nail gas, spun for maybe half a second, the ss is pullin on me, I hit about 3 grand and I'm gone.

So is this supposed to happen, or is there something overly screwed up with my car?

is your drivetrain in good shape?

Well for one, whether ttype or GN, there is no difference in the drivetrain at all. Is your engine in good shape? is your car totally stock? Hows about sensors? A lot may very have to do with whether.. Hell sometimes id blow the door off of a 5.0L, others id get smoked by a stock one. :( . I am also hotair too. I would try tuning your car, making sure its in good mechanical shape. It can very well be so many things. I would check the basics first, and go from there. If its bone stock, theres so much you can do to get her hauling ass!

FIRST of all, if you got an '86, you DON'T got no hotair car!

SECOND of all, if you DON'T got no hotair car, you may get better info from the "general turbo buick tech" section!

Either way, sounds like you got some minor tuning issues...

Cold pavement + Cold tires = No traction.

Either way you can modulate the pedal to prevent wheel spin. Try preloading the suspension with a -0- vac launch and only go 1/2 open till second.
