i had this extra motor laying around... so i was like humm... what can i do with this motor.. so for some reason i came up with a motorized lawn chair... so my friend and i put it together using mostly bike parts and a peice of plywood. now that everything is mostly together i cant seem to get the thing moving.

the motor is a briggs and Straton 3HP motor (i would think that that would be enough, but maybe its not) with a clutch on it, then a bike chain to the solid rear axle.

everytime i fire up the engine, it runs pretty good, its not perfect but its got a decent idle to it; but then everytime i give it more gas it stalls... i cant seem to get it adjusted right...

any body know what could be wrong with this picture? i have messed with the idle screw, the fuel adjustments everything..

but maybe some one can explain to me how to tune one of these motors properly? thanks for any help

I used to race Go Karts in the past and built some motors to race... You have to take the carb off and clean it out, lot of dirt and varnish can get in and be clogging the fuel bowl inside... There's a main jet that could be dirty or just loose , plus a small idle jet that could be dirty..... 3 HP won't be enough to pull anything heavy, a 10HP and above would start things moving .... but you can try :)
