How fast (roughly) do you typically see folks running with a single nozzel non-progressive setup.I've had it in the car for a while & got tired of the cost of c16 on poorly maintained tracks while running BFG's.On a damp track (Milan Dragway) last night I saw terrible numbers as follows;2.308-8.383/89.46-12.712/112.81 withh 22psi.Looks like even a 1.7 60ft would yield low 12.I saw no KR.I'm new to this so I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks Wayne

My GN is just a little slower with the SMC vs. the C16. On 91 octane pump gas, 19° timing, 25psi boost, Denatured Alky it went a 12.20. About a month later, went to the track, drained the 91, put in 4 gallons of C16, left the SMC kit on, 26° Timing, 25psi boost, car went 11.87. MPH in Sig. (Times at Alb. Dragway, 5300 Ft.)

Oh yeah, that is with the older style SMC single nozzle, pump speed around 7-8 and turn on around 17psi.

Just recently I went 11.99 @ 110 mph with only 23 psi of boost and 93 octane...I have the dual nozzle setup though but it's still not using the progressive controller (yet). The car was really rich during that run too (pump speed also only on 4!).

Alky Newbie

I was shocked when I ran on 93 Amoco & denatured alky @ 22/23 psi with no retard whatsoever.I had the pump speed set just under 5,but the alky was coming in at 11psi (too early I guess) & the motor was laying down.It didn't matter any how since I couldn't put anything to the floor on wet pavement.I'm going to try working up to an "alky onset" of 15 psi boost.Maybe the pump speed can come down slightly.I don't think that a car with good heads & intake,Ta61 turbo & a great stretch intercooler will require a lot of alky to cool the chambers etc. off (based on boost & ambient air conditions of course).Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wayne

Ya got it backwards. You want to run the alcohol for the detonation control. Above and beyond any cooling. So to run more fuel and less alky is not taking advantage of having a kit. For that use a windshield washer pump.

Chip plays a major role, as does figuring what the car likes.

As far as performance, get a car run 22 PSI on a 20 degree chip. And have it tuned to get 760 for O2's. Now tune the car on C16 same timing, same boost, same O2... then do it on alcohol.. Alcohol will win everytime. But dont compare a 26 degree chip with aggressive fueling and timing to a 20 degree chip under the same circumstances.

I would bet anything my car is faster on alcohol than c16.

And how you tune tha alcohol is your final hurdle.. as to how it comes on, chip timing/fueling, amount, etc..
