was wondering why when i shut off my car my egt creeps up so high it goes over 2000 degrees!so the meter the n says OL
not until you restart the car does it come down to normal readings, even if you go back out in 5 inutes or so you can touch the exhaust where the probe is and it is not hot but the reading is still pinned? anyone ever see this?is it maybe a bad probe or meter?,i just want to make sure my WOT reading are correct, being that there isanother problem,i would believe when ou shut the car off the temp should creep down not up
Thanks Otto

Otto,

I just ran into a similar problem. Turns out that I had burned up the thermocouple probe I was using (wrong style that someone gave me). "Burned up" as in gone, no more, bye-bye. Hopefully, it didn't damage the turbine wheel on the way out.
