Is this kit any good. Who makes it? It's a progresive kit single nozzle.

I have a guy that wants to trade me a brand new kit for a IC. I don't need the IC and I want a alky kit. I just don't know that much about them right now.

What is this kit worth?

It's brand new the pump better be good.

Has there been problems in the past with bad pumps?

Supposedly you only have problems with the pumps breaking down if you use straight alcohol. Straight methanol is fine and so is 50/50 (water and meth). However, I have the kit with controller and they say right in the instructions not to expect even 1 hp unless properly tuned.I don't know about you, but I'm a new GN owner and don't own one of those fancy laptops. And I can't get accurate enough just by switching out the 3 jets they give you and adjusting pump pressure ( max is 150 psi) and running it. Anderson Performance dynoed my car after they did some work to it and Bill (owner) said he tried using the kit in the tune, but it kept breaking up really bad so he disconnected it. I had the middle size nozzle installed ( the manual says for 350 to 450 hp i think) and the pump set at max. I figured this was a good place to start. The controller was set to come on at 5 lbs and be at full spray at 12 lbs. I thought that setting should get me close, but nope. That's just my tryout with it. If anyone else could shed some light, I would appreciate it also. Also, don't know if Anderson REALLY tuned it, or just tried it with how I had it set up. And I had 50/50 in the tank, but he tells me they like to use straight methanol.

I have the "Snow Performance Boost Cooler" instruction manual right here.
The kit comes with three nozzles; 175, 375, and 625 ml/min. "Nozzle sizing is a function of horsepower, which approximates engines airflow, and boost, which approximates intake charge heat." The recommended starting points from the instructions are as follows : 250-350 rwhp---175 ml nozzle
350-475 rwhp---375 ml nozzle
475-600 rwhp---625 ml nozzle
The nozzle holder is recommended to be installed as close to the throttlebody as possible. When I had the car in it's factory hot air set up, I tapped a hole for the nozzle holder right in the throttlebody before the throttle blade. Now, even though it hasn't been used since the swap, it's tapped into the intercooler up-pipe to the doghouse. The pump in the kit I have (I got the kit with the high output 150 psi pump, well,their calling it h.o. at least, and the variable controller which lets you control onset injection swept to full injection) comes set at 150 lbs and through adjusting the pump pressure and the nozzles and the onset+full injection points, you're supposed to be able to recieve a pretty substantial hp increase from this kit. Howeve, you HAVE to tune the kit or you will see little or even no difference at all. I have been screwing around with so much other crap on the car, tuning that is the last of my worries. It just sits there in the car doing nothing. And now that I'm learning more and more about how all this computer bulls*%t works, I don't know if you will need a chip made for the car w/ the kit to make it work right. There was a test I've seen on the net somewhere where they took a newer vette w/ a supercharger on it and due to lack of space, the used the snow alky kit instead of using an intercooler and the showed a gain of like 56-58 horsepower when tuned. The exact same kit I have. So like anything, it'll probably work. But it all depends on how much time you want to spend tuning it to make it achieve it's full potential. Unless you got a dyno and a laptop. Then it's easy. Hope I was useful.

Oh, and you can buy it right out of the summit catalog. The kit without the variable controller was I think $299 and with was $399.
