Thanks for the heads up and the can of C-16 Nordy

This past Sunday was a scheduled wrench day on Nordy's car but we decided to check out a local Dyno Day in Santa Ana before we went to wrenching

I showed up (with the GN) at 0845 and there were only 4 cars already signed up / in line to Dyno

I figured that since I was already there and the line was short, that I may as well spend the 50 bucks and get my 3 pulls, plus it would give me a chance to check on the tune on the car from my last Irwindale run when the car went 6.66 seconds at 106.7 mph (using Petes borrowed GTQ70 turbo)

Nordy was gracious enough to bring down a can of C-16 otherwise I would not have even concidered getting the car on the dyno on 91 octane

2 SRT-4 Neons ran 1st with RWHP in the mid to high 275 RWHP range

Then Mike's friend ran his Camaro and hit 317 RWHP

A guy in an old Cougar XR7 Convertible with a freshly built 427 sounded great but maxed out around 400 RWHP

I got on the Dyno, told the guy to keep it under 6100 rpms, sat in the front seat and recorded the run on the FAST system while he went from a 3rd gear roll and very happily the car hit 556 RWHP at 28 psi boost (10.00 A/F Ratio ) and 25 degrees of timing top end (maxed out at 6325 rpm)

That was all I needed and told him to unstrap it from the DYNO cause I was done

I could have played with the A/F and leaned it out and tried for more power but I was very happy with 556

That was a 51 RWHP increase from my last dyno run (with the GTQ-71)

I guess all things considered, the GTQ 70 is one hell of a strong turbo

It's gonna suck when I have to take that puppy off and give it back to Pete..:D

Way to go Ray!

Some good numbers. What do you figure the H.P. is at the crank ? An 18% drive train power loss would make it about 650 H.P. not bad.

Ray as a reward for out standing service & awesome perf. I have a set of GN-1 valve covers I just done up in wrinkle finish. I remember you drooling all over mine at donut derelicts. Just swap me out & they are your's.

Great job Ray!!! Nice to see that little turbo can help produce some large numbers!!!!

What A Man

Dam Lou,

What a great deal

I have to admit, yours looked real trick and it really cleans up the look under the hood as it hides any oil or greasy finger marks

Thank you very much for the offer

I will pm you about when we can do the swap

Best regards,

Ray
