I have an 87 Turbo Limited in San Diego. I bought the car with 127000 miles
on it last winter. The car had a dead fuel pump(not making any horsepower for a long time)
and a trans slip when I purchased it. I adjusted the TV cable and that took care of it while it had no horsepower.
I then put a Fuel pump in and figured out the trans slips under boost(1-2 shift takes 1.5 seconds to lock and 2-3 takes .5 second to lock) everything else is perfect. I finally called Bruce Recently and he sent me a care package (Shift Kit plus 1-2 accumulator Seal and spring
etc, the pressure reg set and a book on this thing. I pulled the pan Last night to do the kit and first pulled the 1-2 accumulator down and found that the seal on the accumulator was shrunk up and not sealing. So I decided to do the seal and the spring set up Bruce sent and try it like that. Well I was amazed that 90% of my 1-2 **** problem was gone. Now the 1-2 and 2-3 shift
lock down in about .5 seconds(not perfect but now close). After living with this for 9 months
I really feel stupid for not jumping in sooner.
So the question I now have especially for Bruce is do I need to go for broke and do all
the work(pressure Reg,Plate etc.) or part to get it the rest of the way.
By the way I put this question here in hope someone out there might benefit from this
info.
also I seldom post but often read and benefit from everyone on this forum and I want to
say thanks.
