Something new every time. Wont go into Park

It sure is a good thing I have other cars to drive, every time I drive the GN something breaks. Today after pulling into the garage the shifter will not go into park, actually the shifter moves into every gear with our pressing the button. Guess I am removing the console and see what is going on under there. Is there an write up on how to get the shifter detents set to match up with the shifter indicators?

Could be the shift select cable (shifter to trans); super easy r&r BUT
GET OEM replacement!
I went through several (5 I think) aftermarket ones that ALL snapped, one w/in one minute after install they are all mfg by same company out of Israel, they have slightly different design that seemed to cause my failures. OEM was MUCH more expensive , but well worth it!.
I'm not sure how to fine tune cable to align w/ indicator...

Well it was the shifter J rod. I guess I was a little to hard on that last trans-brake launch. Here are some picture. The first one is the bent J rod
The next one is the shifter in the 1st gear position and the second is the shifter in the third position, you can see that the whole assembly needs to be moved or the cable inside the sheath.
