atleast sammy isn't a barry bonds. And no i'm not one of those pittsburgh fans that is sour that bonds left pittsburgh. He's is a jerk no matter how many ways you try to prove that he isn't. Bonds wouldn't have the balls to do what sammy did on ESPN last night. Sammy atleast admitted he was wrong, he gave an excuse and wheather is true or not really doesn't matter, he said he was wrong. I can't stand the people/media that ride the Barrywagon. Sosa always gets the short end of the stick, he got it in 98 when he was going against big mac for the HR title. Sammy is a good guy. If people let this ruin there opinion of him then they are just stupid. Barry Bonds is a clubhouse CANCER. He is so full of himself. Why people treat him like God is beyond the realms of rational thought. the only thing with barry is that has never been caught cheating. Sammy weather he used a corked bat knowingly or not is still an important entity in the sport. Why is getting a DWI considered not at bad as corking a bat. Why is taking drugs not as bad as corking a bat. People got their priorities messed up. There no way to tell how many players are using an edge outside the rules. For christs sake LT is still a legend, half of his sacks he was high on coke. Sammy will get his punishment and that should be the end of it. i don't care what the media says, i'm an abled bodied person that can form my own opinions.

Ah, we are touching on a subject near and dear to my heart, baseball. 88 Cutty Classic, Barry gets treated like God simply because you could easily make the case that he is one of the 10 best players to ever play the game. The guy is damn near as complete a player as there has ever been. He can hit for power, average, and could even run when he was younger. The only knock on him has been his throwing arm, but even his arm is adequate. He is a first class A-hole to be sure; so bad that even the members of his own team won't talk to him. Barry just sits over in the corner in his own little compound in the clubhouse relaxing in his leather recliner, watching his big-screen tv, and basically hating the world. I've never liked the guy. The day Barry hit homerun #522 to pass my favorite player of all-time, the great Ted Williams was a sad day for me. Then again Barry never had to sacrifice 5 prime years of his career to fly fighter jets in two wars to help defend his country, but that's another story.

I heard a good point made on the radio by Skip Bayless when he was interviewed on the Jim Rome Show. I think it kind of sums things up. I'm paraphrasing here, but basically the difference between Barry and Sammy is that Sammy goes out there with his big grin blowing kisses to the camera and the fans and trying to make everyone think he is a good guy. Sammy wants you to think he is the guy in the white hat. Barry at least wears his black hat proudly, and doesn't try to make anyone think he is anything but what he is. Barry hates the media, and it wouldn't surprise me if he even hates the fans. At least with Barry what you see is what you get. Sammy wants to wear his white hat and at the same time he is shoving cork in his bat. Maybe he had better call Barry and see if he has any black hats he wants to sell.

By the way, Cutty Classic you mentioned drugs? I'm not sure if you meant it in terms of Bonds, but I don't recall Barry ever getting popped for drugs, a DWI, or cheating in any way.

Barry bonds couldn't throw out sid bream let alone my grandma in the clutch. Little tony womack has more important playoff hits than barry bonds. barry bonds is the dan marino of baseball.

I guess it is just perspective - Baseball is supposed to be clean and fair.

Part of the fun and history I guess. Everyone from AJ Foyt to Paul Tracy have admitted to cheating. Guys get caught every week in NASCAR.

All joking aside, barry bonds would have hid in a bunker but sammy stood on ESPN and took it like a man. They say if anything it may add 5 feet on to a good hit ball. Sammy hits his WAY over the fence. if the bat was for BP, maybe it has a different effect on a ball only comming about 70 mph. I work for the Pittsburgh Pirates, I see the day to day stuff at a MLB ball park. The problems in this league are way deeper than corked bats, the problem is the average fan. They expect way too much and are not satisfied with watching a baseball game, they want total entertainment. The only league on the whole that is still worth a damn is the NFL. MLB needs to look up the word UNIFORM!!! There is no need for pants at the ankles and some up, they should all be worn at the knees. The NFL, every player's Uniform is the same and if not they get fined. IMO the best sport to watch is college football.

Maybe I'm showing my ignorance too, but that's just what I'd like to know. It seems that in practice you'd want things to be just as it would be in the game so you'd be ready. Why use it at all? Or praticing with it to get ready for using it in the game, maybe? JUST KIDDING! LOL!

Well uniforms are part of the game. If you think like that why not wear what ever you want. There is no need for MILLION DOLLAR babies to "express" themselves by wearing their uniform as if they were walking throught tha hood. Why do i care about a stupid uniform? Well i thought baseball is a team sport, why do guys need to set themselves apart from their teamates? "uni" meaning one! The word itself :1. A distinctive outfit intended to identify those who wear it as members of a specific group.
2. One set of such an outfit. 3. Always the same
4. Conforming to one principle, standard, or rule; consistent.
5. Being the same as or consonant with another or others.
6. Unvaried in texture, color, or design.

The NFL holds up to their standards and MLB doesn't. the uniform code is a perfect example of why mlb got passed up by the NFL, its the sum of little things thats adds up. there is no need to show me how rich you are by wearing a big diamond in your ear while you are playing sports. I can't talk about the state of Baseball no more, it makes me wanna barf.
