i decided to do some reading in our hot air basic info sticky i always find interesting stuff to read and view i came across the firing order setup post where it shows the drawing of where each wire goes to well my is opposite of what it shows have had it that way for years ...so then i decide to check out the thread we have in our section about posting pictures of intake and engine bay as im looking through the pics focusing on the plug wires its like 50/50 some guys have it the way the drawing shows in the sticky and others opposite of that so wat is the deal here have i had them going the wrong way all this time? or is ok this way ? i mean shouldnt all stock or close to stock b the same pattern? im a bit confused

I am still running the 84 coil pack on my car and the cylinder that the wire goes to is actually stamped on the coil towards the bottom of the terminal, check yours out.

It could be that someone replaced your coil and mixed up the six feed wires from the module underneath making it flipped? It wouldnt be hard to do since there is a little slack in them. If I remember right they should be hooked up with the wires on the front egdge of the module going to the front of the coil and the other three to the back. If you loosen your coil and tip it up you may find them to be reversed.

It actually doesnt matter...

The way the coil works it doesnt matter which set is on the front and which are on the back as long as they are in the correct order.

The coil uses a waste spark firing method firing one little coil block at a time. So that coil block fires both wires (one on the compression stroke, the other on the exhaust stroke to burn any residual fuel in the exhaust before it hits the catalytic converter and stops it up). It actually is a very effective method of ignition and burns very cleanly.

But I will try to post an link from casper's website with the correct routing.

I know thats for an 86/7 but its the same either way. Just look at the numbers and line them up.

1, 5, 3 on the back side

and 4, 2, 6 on the front toward the radiator.

There ya go,
