I'm in the process of replacing the padded dash with a redyed original off of wreck. The new one is faded but uncracked. However the speaker grill that I replaced just 4 years ago is badly warped it's buckling up where it faces the dash between the screw holes. There's a new one going back on it but Anyone have an idea how to prevent the new one from warping like the previous one. The OEM grill cracked but didn't warp.

I would try using a sunshade that will keep most of the heat from the sun being directly on the piece.

i have had over 30 of these cars and NOT a unbroke one in the bunch ! somebody should stamp one out of steel !

Apparently I wasn't real clear here. THe OEM speaker cover lasted for 16 years. It was cracked in places but never warped. The replacement warped after 4 years and the car stays in the sun less than it did for it's first 16 years.

Is it the dye or are the newer ones less robust.

Has anyone tried bracing it underneath to prevent warping.
