spearco's do they work or not?

I just bought a spearco setup and really thought it would be a very good upgrade. (I havn't installed it yet.) I've been doing some research and I see a lot of negative comments. I would like to hear from some people (pro's and con's) that have first hand experience with this setup on a hot air car.

if you can get it to stop up and down idle u got it because it does its job by taking some time off your 1/4 mile but tunning is up to you iac may need adjusting i couldnt figure it out i figured it takes so long for the air to pass throught the system and then the car is trying to fill in the gaps and the idle problem is a result a quick diagnosis but it worked a little hesitate at wot and then hold here it comes then it goes toy with it u might get it i gave up

My car had one on it when I got it and I liked it. With the intercooler, open K&N, 16lbs. of boost, hi flow cat, and kenne bell exhaust I would put a hurtin' on my buddies '94 GT. Also had the Postons 7 position chip. Car idle just fine and WOT was no problem........only problem I noticed was nailing the car from a dead stop........a little hesitation then she would.......but if you build the rpm's up then I had no hesitation. I wish I would have kept it and used it with my V2 intake..........my .02 cents.

just to see last year i cover mine with sheet metal to stop air flow through the intercooler and i droped three mph in the quater so i figuerd it was working just fine

I put mine on and dropped a full second to 12.9 and had some room for tuning. If I can find my old email, someone on this board gave me some tuning advice. like setting iac and tps. I also added a tec voltage enhancer. From a dead stop and you hit the gas there was a little hesitation, but with a little rpm buildup ;it pulled great. It did die a few times at a stop light, but I was starting to have problems with the maf or translator. I had a translator plus and a ta-33 turbo.
