Thanks, the plan was to install them with the heads on the engine and with the engine in the car. Can they still be checked like this?

Ok. So I am wondering if this means said heads will need removed or what should we do?

Do some research on the net on this procedure, buy a book, etc to get yourself up to speed......I beleive GNTTYPE has a procedure for valve spring change. You can pick up a overhead spring compressor from sears, etc. But over by the heater/ac box some

Shims

Take the springs to a machine shop get them to test and record them. Some will be lower than others. Some of your valve heights will be a lil less than others. The springs that are a lil weaker place in the shorter areas.

Shims will increase seat psi some but limit over all travel before coil bind.

Overhead valve spring compressor will get it done but some designs arent the best when around teh ac box.....psi cyl through sparkplug to hold valve up upon spring change. Chnage stem seals while in there...will only have seals on intake valve on bone stock heads.

It does...

But it looks like just a basic R&R. It mentions nothing about how to set the springs up.

I suppose I could just install new springs in place of the old ones and cross my fingers for something good.
