speedo cable routed through powermaster?

i was getting ready to replace my PM with a reman unit on my 87 gn when i noticed a cable coming up from the drivers fender area going inbetween the resevoir and pump and going back into the firewall directly behind my dash. i'm assuming this is the speedo cable but how the hell do i remove the PM system if this thing is going through it?

the stock was a two peice cable with the joint by the driverside of the powermaster .
yours may have been replaced with a 1 peice in which case youll need to disconnect the cable from one end, either the transmission or the speedo ,

Drain the reservoir and surround it with rags.

Pop the thing off with a pry bar.

this one looks like it may be two piece. it has a metal section right next to the powermaster it has one nut and a splined secton right next to that that looks like maybe it could be gripped with a plier. i'll have a look see in a minute
