Hi all,

I bought a (seemingly) low mile cluster from Ebay back in February and finally got around to installing it. I took a drive around the block and I'm getting this pretty loud grinding sound from the speedo. This condition didnt exist with the previous cluster. Is it possible this sound is maybe from the cable not seating properly in the cluster? I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this before I yank it out.

Lubricate the cable. Pull the speedo cluster forward. Disconnect the cable. Pull cable out. Rub with lithium grease. Slip cable back. Something like that. Do the lower half to the tranny too.

Pain in the ass! Done it maybe 3 times or 4 times in 25 years. Each time I do it, I curse.

Ugh, yeah the cable is a pain in the ass. There's just hardly any room back there.
