Thanks Broke and Earl. I went with the Amazon part. Could not beat the price for a new part.

I have a new one for sale I don't need. Probably too little too late, but let me know otherwise.

I know for a fact that part works. I'm running that cable in my car right now and I pulled that link from my Amazon history.

Didn't think about the cable, have the top half out, guess I will get under the car for the bottom half, will send

I thought it was one piece from the trans to the factory speedo? It's the long one. I have a GNX dash and can't use it but didn't realize until after I bought it.
If you have cruise there will be two cables.

Makes sense. This is the long one from the trans to the speedo. I do have cruise but didn't think of that one. The GNX style dash is a two piece from trans to speedo as the vss is in line with the speedo cable on my setup.

I have read that GM did two cables to have faster assy. Had nothing to do with cruise

Yeah both my 87's are like you are talking about by my 86 has a small box that i'm talking about but I don't know what it does.Probably still uses same cables.

Yes, Buick change lots in mid stream, there is no telling what we have

I have a friend here with a 2000 mile 87 GN that has cruise, and another friend with a 86 T-type he's the second owner and it has no cruise, my car 87 GN with cruise and they all have two piece cables. I've seen ALOT of these cars and they've all had two piece cables unless replaced with an aftermarket one piece.

Pretty sure it was for mating the body to he chassis. (and making it impossible to break the two cables apart years later)
